The Last King of Scotland

What a performance from Forrest Whitaker as Idi Amin. Very powerful and charming. It was a great method to get up close and personal with such a man as Idi Amin.

The Last King of Scotland
, a line dropped in the movie as Idi says that the Scottish invited him to be King of Scotland and help the Scots "sort out" the British.

The Doctor who gets caught in Idis world seems to be the naive chap almost being eyes for the rest of us, that did not see the cruelty of the man.

A must see for all I believe.

The Queen

The Queen played by Helen Mirren very well indeed as well. The only thing I was left wondering was, where was the drama the intrigue the story. Who are the goodies and the baddies. There seemed to be nothing in the Royals life until Princess Diana happened.

I was expecting a more insider view of the Queen. As the only impression is a as what is portrayed in the media. So was interested to get a fly on the wall look into there lives.

So all in all well played. I was touched by Charles character, seemed to portray him as a real Dad with feelings and compassion, albeit he also seemed paranoid at times about being some sort of target.

I wanted more out of this movie.
